A very insightful article over at the Central Desktop blog comparing Central Desktop to Sharepoint. Sharepoint has it’s place in the business world - mostly in big business which can afford the IT support and the cost of the application. Everyone agrees - to get the most out of it you need expert support.

The article looks at “Configuring Multiple Authentication Providers for SharePoint 2007″ explained succinctly as “...a nerd way of describing an extranet whereby there are two points of access/entry, one on the intranet for employee use and the other on the extranet, where trusted partners can access specific sites, lists and libraries or individual items.“ In Sharepoint this takes 21 complex steps. In Central Desktop, 2. So which one are you going to use?
