LINQ defines standard query operators that allow code written in LINQ-enabled languages to filter, enumerate, and create projections of several types of collections using the same syntax (source: wikipedia). Kevin Hoffman has written a good post on how introducing LINQ into improved for Sharepoint “with just a few simple tweaks here and there, the cleanliness and efficiency of your code can be drastically improved - without even touching on any of the additional functionality coming up like the ADO.NET Entity Framework. ”
