That’s an interesiting thing. Sometimes something screws up and there’s no normal way to track this either than always manage this with your own eyes. Another problem is the security management. I feel like the basic sharepoint funtionality to manage site security is not enough for managing a farm of sites. To say more, I don’t felt myself comfortable when I was managing my the single site when we had only one site here. In fact management of several sites requires implementing automation. But the interfaces are still in the raw state and what’s more, they require a good knowlege of .NET and usualy I find it complex to automate the permission set myself. I heard recently, Scriptlogic announced it included the support for centralized security management in its Security Explorer. I am looking forward for this tool to be issued to see if it’s what I want. It’s a vicious circle here with security management. With basic web based interface it’s really hard to find a leak in the security. Recently I set the permission for one role and forgot to change it. Luckily I found it it set it back to normal state when I was browsing the office server SQL database with SQL manager. I would really appreciate your reply according to the security management.
