Robin Macrae presents tomorrow @ TSPUG

Robin MacraeTorontorians and fellow visitors, please join Robin Macrae this Wednesday, February 20th at 6:00pm for a presentation on Developing an Enterprise Strategy to Deliver Customized Sets of Capabilities.I have had the pleasure of meeting Robin, in last years Toronto SharePoint Camp.  He’s a wonderful speaker and I look forward to seeing him present again.   This session will be an opportunity to discuss the common problems you are encountering in Enterprise deployments of SharePoint and hear how your peers are addressing them.

A major strength of SharePoint, a wide range of capabilities and potential applications, is also a major weakness. There is a lot out of the box (OOTB) and its easy to satisfy basic requirements but large scale or serious development requires an infrastructure to be built. How do you satisfy the typically high initial demands for basic collaboration and content management while creating a framework to address the more complex requirements that justified the implementation in the first place? One strategy is to use an appropriate model of capabilities together with the right mix of sets of defined OOTB and custom capabilities, some broadly available and others narrowly targeted.

Presenter: Robin Macrae is a Toronto-based enterprise collaboration and content consultant.  He is an expert in content management and development including search engine marketing and has a background in professional services, business strategy, usability and analytics. He has become heavily involved in SharePoint in the past two years in both medium and large Canadian enterprises.
