Its my birthday and what am I giving myself?   A small two week vacation!  Well this post is more about what I’d like to give back to the community.  I haven’t really posted about my codeplex project SharePoint Weather web part, as it was very beta had a lot of improvements that I wanted to make.

I’m going to be releasing the next version of my web part.  It will be released shortly.

SharePoint Weather Web Part v0.2 Features

  • Grab weather data from weather.com
  • Ability to customize how to weather data is displayed
  • Store weather data by city into SharePoint custom list
  • Web Part Parameters:
    • City: allow users to select what city’s weather to display
    • Interval: enter numeric value (in hours) on how often to update SharePoint custom list

I would really appreciate it if there is anyone who’d like to help out with improving the Weather web part.
