Microsoft has just released a few SharePoint related downloads for everyone to enjoy over the weekend:
- Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Application Template: Product and Marketing Requirements Planning (productplanning.exe) - The Product and Marketing Requirements Planning application template for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 enables teams to manage the process of collecting and documenting requirements for new products. - Office SharePoint Server Health Check Datasheet (Office_SharePoint_Server_Health_Check.pdf)- Helps ensure that your systems align with Microsoft-recommended best practices. Whats’ in the PDF file? 2 pages of business related information on the Office SharePoint Server Health Check program. Haven’t heard about it myself but the application looks to help in the following areas:

This application will also have the following phases:
- Discussion—Interview the deployment team to discuss architecture or design and intended use of Office SharePoint Server.
- Configuration and Log Scraping—Collect Event Viewer logs, web.configs, and IIS logs. This time can also be used to cover any current or recurring issues.
- Performance—Collect data with Perfmon and run SPReport to obtain analysis of the current usage of Office SharePoint Server.
- Security —Verify the installation of critical Windows security patches using Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 Configuration Pack for Configuration Manager 2007 (ConfigMgr2007MSSS2007.msi) - The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 Configuration Pack is designed to be used for managing the configuration of SharePoint 2007 servers. This configuration pack defines recommended configurations based on a number of settings identified through best practice recommendations from the Microsoft SharePoint Product Group.
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 MSIT Basic Configuration Pack for Configuration Manager 2007 (ConfigMgr2007MSSPS2007B.msi) - The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 MSIT Basic Configuration Pack is designed to be used for managing the configuration of SharePoint 2007 servers. This configuration pack defines recommended configurations based on a limited number of settings affecting the configuration of SharePoint 2007 servers in the Microsoft IT environment. More extensive configuration items and settings can be obtained by downloading the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 MSIT Intermediate and Comprehensive Configuration Packs. It is recommended that users begin by evaluating their configuration against the Basic configuration pack, and then progress to the Intermediate and Comprehensive configuration packs as desired configurations are verified.The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 MSIT Basic Configuration Pack includes configuration items for the following:
